Meet Our Experts

Luís Lopes-da-Costa is a Full Professor at FMV-ULisboa since 2006, the Head of Reproduction & Development Laboratory of CIISA, and the Director of AL4AnimalS. He held several FMV positions, including President of the Scientific Council and Coordinator of CIISA. In teaching at FMV-ULisboa, he was Coordinator of the Integrated Master in Veterinary Medicine and of the Doctoral Program in Veterinary Sciences. At ULisboa, he Coordinates the specialty Global Health of the Doctoral Program Planetary Health Studies.

Teaching and research have covered reproductive biology and medicine, host-pathogen interactions, stem cell and transgenesis biotechnology, One Health topics and also systems science and epistemology, supervising advanced studies and awarding competitive funding. He serves as evaluation panel member for international funding agencies, as reviewer for international reference journals, and as external expert for the European Commission. For the outreach, he is the Director of LabRepA, dedicated to counseling and certified services to community.
