Ana Cláudia Coelho is an Associate Professor with “Agregação” in the Department of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (UTAD), Portugal. She holds a Veterinary Degree (1997), a Master’s in Health Promotion and Health Education (2001), and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences (2006). She is a member of the Animal and Veterinary Research Centre (CECAV) and the AL4AnimalS Associate Laboratory. Her main research interests include emerging and re-emerging zoonoses within the One Health framework, as well as mycology, mycobacteriology, infection control, and biosafety. Dr. Coelho has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications and serves as a reviewer for several international journals. She has held leadership roles in biosafety and scientific governance at UTAD, including President of the Biosafety Nucleus, Chair of the Biosafety Commission, and, since 2025, Secretary of the Scientific Council. She has been a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Microbiology since 2019.
