Ana Patrícia Lopes is an assistant professor of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro (UTAD), Vila Real, Portugal. She has a degree in Veterinary Medicine and a PhD in Veterinary Sciences from UTAD. Ana Patrícia Lopes develops teaching activity in Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases, among others. Her main scientific interest is toxoplasmosis and other protozoa diseases as well as vector-borne diseases. Her research has been carried out on various host species, including domestic and wild animals, as well as humans, resulting in the publication of several scientific articles in the field. Ana Patrícia Lopes is currently director of the Laboratory of Parasitology at UTAD. She is also a member of the biosafety group of the Integrated Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine and of the Quality Management Committee of the School of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences at UTAD.
